A meeting and communication place for isolated contemporary artists in this nostalgic and no consecrated Paris crowd, in order to help the confrontation of new creations, showing not only the sensibility of the artist himself, but also this of his time.
This very special Art gallery was under the Palais-Royal place, in the old 21 shops dating Napoleon III, which were before empty since many years. The cultural association Belier started its first Art exhibition on September 1st 1981.
Originally this passageway was lined with the little shops of craftsmen and traders at a time when the Place Palais-Royal was at its height. The Comédie Française, the Louvre Museum, the big store the Magasins du Louvre and the cafés attracted the high society of Paris. But later, when the first Metro line opened its exit in this place, the passageway lost popularity, became dusty and even not secure.
The RATP wanted to suppress the historical shops when Belier Association came to the rescue with an idea for saving part of this cultural heritage of Paris, and created a cultural center in the remaining shops
Together with N. GOLOUBINOFF, IVA GARO and REGILE organised in this very place during 10 years over 120 Art exhibitions and several shows (poetry and music). Artists from all countries came there their work.
This adventure ended in 1991.
During all these years, Belier association took in charge all expenses. Never the association received a single official financial help.
This unique cultural action (the gallery was opened every day showing new artists each month.) making new Art events, offering a secure and vivid atmosphere in a historical saved place could take place only thanks to the will, the faith and to the financial contribution of the artists.
This became too heavy to carry for those who were daily supporting the gallery action IVA GARO, REGILE and N. GOLOUBINOFF, and without anyone to pursue their action, they had to stop
